Getting Closer.....

Dad and Brian had a productive St. Pat's weekend!
They may not have been celebrating too much,
but I certainly was with the progress!

Officially done with all the soffit and JUST short
with the fascia (typical of our luck!)

And while they were busy working on the house,
I made myself useful by picking up garbage in the grove....

but it did come with its challenges:(
I really had sympathy for horses after picking
out cockleburrs from my hair for hours and hours:(

here's a glance at the sight before I filled up
the garbage bags!
I guess the outcome was worth the hair I lost!

Just a preview with the fascia finished...

And spring is in the air, the green is coming.
Our beautiful willow is starting to show it's true colors!

And finally we're ready to move on to some finishing touches
indoors; the last of the ceiling going up!

he's pretty tough in case you didn't know!
He's showing off his "beer belly" too,
(not quite as big as mine;)

And it was a good thought to finish the last of the band board....

but once again we ran JUST short to finish,
so hopefully we can wrap up the exterior work with
the next shipment of material!

on to BIGGER and better things!

We're finally ready to apply the bead-board ceiling:)

As usual we had some fabulous helpers,
THANKS Mike and Brandon!

There was even a job for me:)

And Sarah always shows up just in time to deliver a meal
for us or have a drink!! THANKS for taking care of us!

Mike and Brian made some SERIOUS progress Monday night...

Mike didn't want to quit until they reached the second
row of can lights!

And Brandon overcame his fear of heights to help
out his brother, now that's brotherly love!

While Mike and Brian were on a role I did my best to
be useful and sealed the shower, so now it's ready
for a curtain and some hardware!

Tiling Time

It's official, SOLD!
We are completely moved out,
our things are at our new home
being stored in our basement and
Brian and myself are rooming
with his parents for a while!
(thanks Tom and Mariane!)

And for those of you who've been inquiring
about my "baby bump"...... 22 weeks.

So let the tiling begin: Our good friends the Whiteis's
have been a great help at getting us started on tiling!

Amanda and Brian worked on the front
entryway together including the mud room,
1/2 bathroom, and laundry room.
Sydney was also a good help:)

And just because I wanted to have a part
in it and claim some glory too I scrubbed all
excess grout off and sealed this section!
(I should probably give the baby some credit
too since he or she spent just as many hours
scrubbing as I did;)

Now onto the master bathroom, Brian
started the shower, his own personal feat!

And here's Jim bringing in some reinforcement!

The boys get credit for their hard work in the shower....

While Amanda and I claim victory in the main bathroom....
(I can take partial credit, I didn't do NEAR as much work
as this lady but I promise I was on my hands and knees
laying tile too--someone has to run the camera!)

Here Amanda is getting us started on the "artsy"
mosaic we installed in the bathroom closet to use up
the broken scraps/pieces of tile.....
Us women are very "green"......
reduce, reuse, recycle!

Not bad for winging it, eh?!
Go Team Girls!
Believe it or not we didn't even set it all out
and make a pattern, we just started laying in pieces
and somehow got lucky that it turned out this good!
The final product (minus the sealer and grout!)

Brian continues to make great progress
with the shower!

He was impressed with Amanda and I's mosaic that
he was bound and determined to out-do us!
I was just happy we could recycle some more scrap!

The painter's started 3/1/12!
The ceiling in the great room is going to be
distressed bead board, here's a sample
of what it will look like!
