And Along Came Brecken.....

Well I see its been a while since we last updated and a whole
lot has happened; so let's start in order!!

This is me the week before baby arrived, trying
to prepare for his arrival.....I thought I had another
few weeks but little did I know this baby had
other plans!
I didn't think I'd show these lovely prego pic's
to the public but once you've given birth you
tend to care a lot less about your prior appearance
leading up to the miracle that comes from within!
Since Brian was busy getting the rest of the house
"liveable" I had to take matters into my own hands
and put back the pieces that I took apart in my
baby furniture re-model....Brian always told
me if you want something done you have to
do it yourself-- just hope Brecken doesn't pay
for it and hope I learned a thing or two from Brian
about tools and handyman work;)

SURPRISE!!!
June 9, 2011 Abby planned a surprise
30th b-day party for brandon
(his real bday is July 1st but she wanted
to throw it early so Brian and I could
help celebrate <before baby> and so Brandon
would be less likely to catch on).
Well he was certainly surprised and luckily baby
stayed put for the big day.....
but NOT for much LONGER!

Here's how the story goes!
This is the last place we were working just before
our lives changed (for the better of coarse!):
the garage...
Brian and I were painting when for some odd reason
I decided to unpack a few boxes....
this is when I had come across a Blood Pressure cuff
I used when I worked home care and thought I'd see
how the old swelling was treating my big ole body...
the numbers didn't look good.
I was skeptical so I sat in a chair with my feet up
for a while and re-checked it...
Still not looking promising.
Therefore I called the hospital to check in
with my good friend working in OB that afternoon
and decided I'd better go for a double check
to make sure the readings I was getting were accurate.
Meanwhile I told Brian he and his mom could keep
painting and I'd update them with the results;
figured I'd be back home in an hour or so...

No such luck, ironically my water broke
on my way to the hospital!
I called Brian to let him know he should
just keep painting a bit while I get settled in
at the hospital.....I knew the whole process could take
a while and there was no use in 2 of us sitting around
doing nothing when we definitely had other things
we could be doing to prepare for baby!!
Lol, Brian continued to paint.....for about 5 minutes when
he told his mom, "I'm outta here"....
but unforturnately like I had warned him many times
before......"first labors could take a while" :)
I landed myself here in this bed for 48 hours total.
My blood pressures were in fact accurate and I had
severe pre-ecclampsia which required me to be on
medicines that required strict bedrest:(
At 4:15 pm Sunday June 10th my water broke on
my way to the hospital....
and by Monday night at 10:15 PM we finally
became parents to our beautiful baby boy:
BRECKEN THOMAS BEER
weighing 7lbs 4oz and 19.25 inches long

Here's the proud papa now!

Long labor/delivery, but excellent outcomes....
both baby and mom healthy.

Our family had been worried that we hadn't
given them many updates during our long waiting period...
so when news finally broke late Monday night we had some
excited aunties and uncle that wanted to come see their
new nephew!! So they made a late night track
to catch his alert period and love him on up:)
Thanks Brandon, Abby, and Sarah for
sharing in our joy!

Our first family photo!
The medicince I had to remain on post-delivery made
my eyes very puffy and groggy and I obviously had some
serious swelling that persisted so our first family photo
is "in disguise" but we have some happy (but tired) eyes
under those shades!

Brecken's first mo-hawk! Daddy was a fan!

Being welcomed to the family:

Daddy's first diaper duty!

A sneak preview from his newborn photo session
compliments of the hospital!!

Finally, Wednesday June 13th we're headed for home
late in the evening....
And much to our surpise we had some visitors while
we were in the hospital...
Thanks Brandon and Abby for cleaning/organizing
and decorating for our grand entrance home!
We didn't get to stay overnight in our brand new home
the first night home from the hospital because we had just a
little more cleaning that needed to be done before
we felt it would be a "safe environment" for a baby!
But it sure felt like HOME once we brought Brecken there:)

Meanwhile we arrived to Tom and Mariane's that night
for yet another surprise party....
The Blaschko's and Abby were there to welcome us home!

Thursday June 14th Brian got motivated and went
on a cleaning rampage.....with help of coarse!
Thanks Beans, Mariane, Tom, Brandon, and Jake:)

and Thursday night we got to sleep in our new, CLEAN home!

Friday June 15th we had another busy day....
meeting the rest of my cousins and taking some
snapshots for Father's Day photos....
my first bath from my mommy...
and then we went to the rodeo at the Posse Ride!

Saturday June 16th made for yet another productive day;
my sister Denise and her sons Teagan and Parker came
to our house to help out for the day....and boy did
they ever: They set up the pack-n-play and Brecken's jogger
and cuddled him up so mom could do some serious unpacking!

Sunday June 17th: HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!
This will be a rare occassion to see these boys in bed together
because Brian is a very heavy sleeper, but with mom around to
keep a watchful eye out they got to sleep in together,
daddy's favorite!

and our first Sunday night supper at the Beer's!
Happy Father's Day !

Just some cute shots of our handsome little guy:

caught him smiling:)
I sleep like daddy....with hands high by my head!
despite everyone's assumptions I am awake sometimes!
Take a look at my eyes because I don't show them very often!
I'm more known for my "one-eyed" looks:)

Some latest glimpes of our home since we've
"settled in"
Brecken's Room

Our beach themed master bedroom,
surrounded by memories from our beach wedding:)

spare room
and a "cleaned up" front yard" with some work to do yet!

And here's our other mommy/baby team that inhabits our home!
This doe and her baby fawn have been paying us a visit almost everyday
for the past few weeks!! Think they know it's safe here:
One mommy and baby looking out for another mommy and baby!
I get the warm fuzzies everytime I get to look out my bedroom
window and see this sight...

And finally July 1st is here and I'm here to celebrate
uncle Brandon's "real" 30th b-day:)
